Learning and Development – New Tools, Old Focus

While my focus for this blog is about training, specifically face-to-face training, I do want to rant a bit about learning and development because that is what I do. Learning and development has come a really long way with all the new technology and different frameworks that are bandied about in any l&d meet up (70-20-10, informal learning, social learning, agile design, social learning platforms, XAPI and now data science) you find yourself in. In reality most of these are surface changes. While they introduce changes to how we do things, at the core of l&d, what we do still remains the same. My personal definition for l&d is:
